  • Bereavement
  • Low self-esteem or lack of confidence
  • Stress
  • Workplace bullying
  • Coping with change
  • Anxiety or depression
  • Lack of direction or purpose

    How long does it take?
Each counselling session lasts for 50 minutes on a weekly basis. An initial contract of a minimum of 6 sessions is recommended with a review at the end of this time which will give you and myself the opportunity to decide how or whether you proceed after that.

What happens at the first meeting?
At our first session I will ask you for details about yourself, your lifestyle, personal history, why you have come for counselling at this time, and what you hope to achieve from the counselling. I will also talk about the way I work and cover things like confidentiality, fees and my counselling contract.

    Do we just talk?
Yes, I use traditional talking therapy much of the time. However, where appropriate, I will also suggest other techniques and exercises such as painting, writing, guided imagery and suggestions for reading to help increase your understanding of yourself. My main approach is Psychosynthesis, however I also use other approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy where appropriate.

    Is it confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is an essential part of our counselling relationship. All that takes place between us each session is treated with respect and discretion. There are exceptions to this which will be explained at our first session.

    How much will it cost?
    Individuals: £45 per session
Short or long term counselling available
